• open command line/terminal on lubuntu (simply press CTRL + ALT + T)
• add PPA repository for oracle java

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:webupd8team/java

• run update command

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install oracle-java9-installer

• wait until the installer finish download and install java 9
• add JAVA_HOME environment variable
