Chromium is the open source version of google chrome, it is maintain by community of developer and not by google. Other than that chromium and google chrome is almost the same, so if open source is important for you then you should try chromium instead of google chrome.
In the past chromium development is little bit behind of google chrome, but now the latest version of chromium is the same as google chrome. Chromium is part of official lubuntu/ubuntu repository, so you can install directly with apt-get command, nice and easy.
How to install Chromium on Lubuntu 17.10
- open command line/terminal on lubuntu
- run update command
sudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get install chromium-browser
Once installed you can open chromium from lubuntu start menu > Internet > Chromium Web Browser.
