How to play Nintendo DS games on Lubuntu


Besides playstation 1, you can also play nintendo ds games on lubuntu, in this article i will show you how to play nintendo ds games on lubuntu.

Nintendo ds is a portable game console from nintendo, it has dual screen, touch screen on the bottom, it also have large collections of games, just like PS1.

To play nintendo ds games on lubuntu, we need emulator called desmume which based on GTK, desmume is available on lubuntu repository.

You can install desmume on lubuntu with apt-get install command, open your terminal/ console/ command line, and then run this command:

sudo apt-get install desmume

Once installed, you can find desmume on the lubuntu start menu > Games > DeSmuME (Gtk), like this:



To play nintendo ds games on lubuntu, you need the emulator and the game itself, you can download the games from the internet, just search 'download nds games' on google, you will find plenty sites for downloading nds games.


Once you have the game that you want to play (.nds format) go ahead open desmume and load the game, see if it's work, because not all games are working properly. If the game not working, you can try some options available on desmume to make it work.
