How to install MP3 encoding on Lubuntu

If you want to convert let's say a movie file into mp3 format, you will need to install mp3 encoding library on your lubuntu because most converter software are depend on it.

To install mp3 encoding library on lubuntu, we can use the gstreamer plugin ugly package, on lubuntu 15.10 wily werewolf i found that there are two versions of gstreamer ugly package.

The first one is the 0.1 version and the 1.0 version (gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly and gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly), so which one should you install?

To answer that question, it depends on the converter software that you are usingm which version does the software requires? but you can install both version to make sure all works.

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
sudo apt-get install gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly
