Lubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf Review

In this article i'm going to do a quick review on lubuntu version 15.10 wily werewolf. Lubuntu 15.10 is the long term support edition which have longer support time (around 9 months) than the regular edition.

In terms of user interface (UI) there are some minor changes on lubuntu 15.10 over the previous non LTS version lubuntu 15.04, but it's hard to see because it's just a minor changes.

The most noticeable difference is obviously the new wallpaper that came with lubuntu 15.10, i think it's nicer and cooler than the old wallpaper.

The login screen is slightly redesign, buttons, tooltips, and icons are much nicer than before. On lubuntu 15.04 the pop up notification for wifi connection is looking terrible on my laptop, but now they fix it and it looks nicer than before.

Lubuntu 15.10 comes with pretty much the same application that lubuntu 15.04 has, and these are list of applications that comes with lubuntu 15.10 wily werewolf:
  • Archive manager version 3.16.4
  • GNOME character map version 3.18.0
  • Disks (gnome-disk-utility) version 3.16.2
  • PCManFM (file manager) version 1.2.3
  • Galculator version 2.1.4
  • GPicView (image viewer) version 0.2.4
  • Leafpad (text editor) version 0.8.18.1
  • Xpad version 4.5
  • Document viewer version 3.16.1
  • mtPaint version 3.40
  • Simple Scan version 3.18.1
  • FireFox web browser version 41.0.2
  • Pidgin version 2.10.11
  • Sylpheed version 3.4.2
  • Transmission version 2.84
  • Abiword version 3.0.1
  • Gnumeric version 1.12.23
  • Audacious version 3.5
  • GNOME MPlayer version 1.0.9
  • Guvcview version 2.0.2
  • Xfburn version 0.5.4
  • LXPanel version 0.8.1
In terms of performance, i feel that lubuntu 15.10 is a lot quicker and smoother than the previous version, so far i'm happy with lubuntu 15.10 wily werewolf, and i haven't experience any crash at all.

When i'm still using lubuntu 14.04 trusty, i get crash notification very often, i don't know why, then i switch to lubuntu 15.04 i get less crash and now using lubuntu 15.10 i haven't experience any crash at all on my laptop, so far so good.
