When you heard the word 'selene', you probably think that is a person name, quite possibly a girl, but no i'm not talking about a girl, the 'selene' i'm talking about is a software for converting audio and video files.
Converting audio and video format is never been so easy, thanks to 'selene', i found that 'selene' to be one of the best audio and video converter on lubuntu/ubuntu.
While most converter software only convert one type either audio only or video only, 'selene' can do both, you can convert avi into mkv, avi to mp4, avi to mp3, etc, there are so many options for you to choose.
Selene is available as part of lubuntu/ubuntu official repository, so you can go ahead install selene on lubuntu using the usual command (apt-get install), like this:

The user interface of 'selene' is pretty simple and straight forward, easy to use, you just add the file you want to convert and then choose the output format then finally hit the start button to begin the conversion.
