Adobe Lightroom alternative on Lubuntu

If you are photographer who love to shoot with DSLR or mirrorless camera most likely you will need a photo editing software for post production your photos, whether you are professional or just shoot for fun you will need photo editing software.

On windows and mac you can use commercial software like adobe lightroom, lightroom is a great software for editing RAW and JPEG images, it's simple and easy to use (once you learn it) and can make your post production more efficient.

Unfortunately for us lubuntu users, adobe lightroom is not available for our operating system, so what should we do? should we give up on photography?? of course no, there is an alternative for lightroom on lubuntu/ubuntu.

On lubuntu/ubuntu we can use program called darktable, darktable has similar function like adobe lightroom and it's support for RAW format too, not just JPEG.

How to install darktable on lubuntu 15.10

On lubuntu 15.10, darktable is part of lubuntu/ubuntu repository, so no need to add ppa, you can just run the apt-get install like this:

sudo apt-get install darktable

Darktable package is very small compared with what it can do, only 17.0 MB of disk space needed to install darktable, this is amazing !!
