What's new in Lubuntu 18.04

What's new in Lubuntu 18.04

I just install lubuntu 18.04 on my laptop and i thought i should make an article explaining what's new in this release of lubuntu.

The main difference of lubuntu 18.04 compared with the previous version is the wallpaper art, obviously with every version of lubuntu comes with different wallapaper.

But this one is radical change, the wallpaper has two purple color on the side and blue in the middle with stars, i have no idea what this is, but it's kinda cool, i prefer the old wallpaper though.

In the software department, there are no noticeable changes, except now it comes with linux kernel version 4.15, like the rest of ubuntu family.

If you are using laptop, you could see a new icon for battery indicator (xfce power manager). There's also a bluetooth indicator on the left side of it (which i'm not sure it's on the previous version or not).

Besides the new wallpaper and the new kernel, the minimum requirements for lubuntu is also bumped from the previous LTS, lubuntu 18.04 requires minimum 1GB of RAM for casual use and 2GB minimum for web activity.

Lubuntu 16.04 LTS: OS – 512, OS+web – 1GB
Lubuntu 18.04 LTS: OS – 1GB, OS+web – 2GB

Of course this will makes some people sad, supporting old hardware is always been the core of lubuntu, but now they decided to bumped the minimum hardware requirement.
