How to screencast on Lubuntu

In this article i will show you how to screencast your lubuntu desktop, what is screencast? screencast is capturing your desktop activity or recording your desktop and produce a movie file of your desktop

On lubuntu/ubuntu we can use program called gtk-recordmydesktop, this program is available on ubuntu repository. Simply type this command to install:

sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop

The program is look like this:

gtk-recordmydesktop will produce output movie with .ogv file extension which can be open easily on lubuntu/ubuntu.

Besides gtk-recordmydesktop there are other program that can be use to capture/record your desktop on lubuntu/ubuntu, such as:

• Kazam 

• SimpleScreenRecorder

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:maarten-baert/simplescreenrecorder
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install simplescreenrecorder

• Vokoscreen

 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vokoscreen-dev/vokoscreen
 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get install vokoscreen
